Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Columbus, Ohio

Join a high-acuity Labor & Delivery nursing team in Columbus, Ohio, as a travel L&D RN and provide compassionate, evidence-based care to birthing patients and newborns in a Level IV Labor & Delivery unit. This 13-week travel nursing assignment supports approximately 450 deliveries each month and offers the opportunity to collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050-$2,160
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
• Unit: Level IV Labor & Delivery
• Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:1
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: No scheduled weekend coverage indicated
• Float Requirement: May float to antepartum or other units within the organization as needed

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Active Ohio RN license or valid compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced certification required; NCC C-EFM certification may be accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced
• Recent Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Current influenza vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
• Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to complete required Ohio fingerprinting and credentialing steps promptly

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring, NSTs, IUPCs, and fetal scalp electrodes as appropriate
• Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and other obstetric emergencies
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, tubal ligations, cervical cerclage procedures, and high-risk antepartum care
• Care for patients experiencing pregnancy-induced hypertension, postpartum hemorrhage, multiple births, and other high-risk conditions
• Administer and monitor Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, epidural anesthesia, blood products, and other prescribed therapies
• Perform IV starts, venous blood draws, Foley catheter management, central-line maintenance, and infusion pump monitoring
• Complete APGAR assessments, fundus and lochia checks, perineal assessments, reflex and edema assessments, and pain evaluations
• Support breastfeeding and lactation needs, newborn identification and security procedures, thermoregulation, and immediate newborn care
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Float to other assigned units within the organization and adapt to changing patient-care needs
