Join a dedicated Vermont travel nursing team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) providing compassionate, clinically focused care to skilled nursing and rehabilitation residents. Travel RN Job Details

• Duration: 5-week travel nursing assignment
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; approximately three 12-hour night shifts
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Patient Population: Skilled nursing and rehabilitation residents, primarily age 60 and older
• Documentation System: Epic
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:14
• Scheduling Notes: Schedule varies according to unit and patient-care needs. Weekend availability, occasional floating, and holiday coverage are required. Travelers must be available to work at least every other weekend and two of the following holidays when applicable: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
• Transportation: Reliable personal or rental transportation is strongly recommended due to limited public transportation in the area.

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Vermont
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year in long-term care or post-acute care
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years is required
• Current BLS certification
• Dementia-capable care certification preferred
• Ability to float to long-term care and memory care areas as needed
• Availability for a varied schedule without guaranteed block scheduling

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to residents receiving skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.
• Complete assessments, administer medications, monitor patient progress, and communicate changes in condition.
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Epic.
• Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, rehabilitation staff, residents, and families to support individualized care plans.
• Perform and assist with unit-specific clinical activities, including starting IVs, phlebotomy, EKGs, transports, and nebulizer-to-inhaler treatments.
• Use IV pumps and other designated equipment safely and according to established procedures.
• Provide care for residents with complex medical, rehabilitation, and cognitive-support needs.
• Float to assigned areas, including memory care, when needed to maintain continuity of patient care.
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage based on the assignment schedule.
