Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR RN)
- Location: Norfolk, Virginia
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- End Date: February 8, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
- Work Setting: On-site operating room and surgical services environment
Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Virginia
- At least 1 year of recent operating room, OR, or perioperative nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Strong knowledge of surgical safety, infection prevention, and sterile technique
- Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative care team
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient advocacy skills
Travel OR RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, efficient nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative experience
- Prepare patients, equipment, supplies, and the operating room for scheduled surgical procedures
- Support operating room procedures while maintaining sterile technique and adherence to surgical safety protocols
- Monitor patient status and promptly communicate changes to the surgical team
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
- Complete accurate patient assessments, documentation, and handoffs
- Participate in surgical counts, infection-control practices, and quality-improvement initiatives
