Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Critical Need
- Location: Walnut Creek, California
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,990-$3,150
- Assignment: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: January 16, 2027
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Work Setting: On-site hospital environment
Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent full-time equivalent Registered Nurse experience completed within the last 3 years
- Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required; high-risk Labor & Delivery or high-risk obstetrics experience preferred
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state where care is provided
- Basic Life Support certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation certification
- Maternal Child Health experience or preparation preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a related field preferred
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum process
- Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments and recognize changes in patient condition
- Support patients during labor, childbirth, and postpartum recovery
- Monitor fetal and maternal status, communicate findings, and promptly escalate clinical concerns
- Administer medications and treatments according to established orders and clinical standards
- Assist with the care of high-risk obstetric patients and respond effectively to urgent clinical situations
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, neonatal clinicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and evidence-based guidance
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and promote continuity of care
