PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Downey, California

PICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent full-time-equivalent Registered Nurse experience within the past 3 years
- Recent experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or comparable critical-care setting strongly preferred
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state where care is provided
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field preferred
Pediatric Intensive Care Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in clinical status
- Administer medications and therapies safely in accordance with provider orders and established protocols
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and pediatric emergencies
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Support patients and families through education, communication, and compassionate nursing care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold hospital, regulatory, and patient-safety standards
