Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse – Acute Surgical Unit
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460-$1,540
- Location: Duluth, Georgia
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Surgical Unit – Medical-Surgical Nursing
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 23, 2027
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Holiday Expectations: Work two major holidays–Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day–and one minor holiday, such as the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve.
Med/Surg RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) or Acute Surgical Unit nursing experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Georgia
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment with frequent admissions, discharges, and patient transfers
Acute Surgical Unit Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to patients on an Acute Surgical Unit
- Assess patient conditions, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate clinical outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established nursing standards
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate care team members
- Support patients admitted from the Emergency Department, PACU, and direct admissions
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, patient education, and transition-of-care activities
- Collaborate with providers, ancillary departments, and fellow nurses to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the Cerner electronic medical record
