Travel Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050-$2,160
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Labor & Delivery
• Healthcare Setting: Level IV maternity center with approximately 450 deliveries per month
• Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:1 on nights
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Float Requirement: May float to antepartum and other appropriate units within the health system as needed

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse experience
• Valid Ohio or compact Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of application
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred; NCC C-EFM certification may be accepted in its place
• Strong Epic electronic health record experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with starting and maintaining IVs
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly
• Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader

Labor & Delivery Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients throughout antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring equipment
• Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and obstetric emergencies
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, high-risk pregnancies, and multiple births
• Administer and monitor medications and therapies, including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, epidural infusions, and blood products
• Perform assessments and interventions related to pregnancy-induced hypertension, postpartum hemorrhage, pain management, and newborn transition
• Support newborn care, including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, security banding, and cord sample collection
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support, patient education, and compassionate family-centered care
• Complete accurate documentation in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical teams
