Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Access Hospital in Kapaau, Hawaii

Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250-$2,370
- Specialty: Emergency Room / Critical Access Hospital Registered Nurse

- Location: Kapaau, Hawaii, on Hawaii’s Big Island
- Start Date: November 30, 2026
- End Date: March 1, 2027
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts; days and/or nights based on departmental needs
- Coverage: Weekends and holidays required as scheduled
- Call: No call
- Healthcare Setting: On-site Emergency Department with medical-surgical float responsibilities
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Hawaii
- At least 1 year of recent registered nursing experience, preferably in emergency, medical-surgical, or critical access hospital settings
- Strong emergency nursing assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to float between the Emergency Department and medical-surgical units
- Strong EPIC electronic health record experience
- Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Current certifications required for nursing practice and assignment compliance
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to Emergency Department patients
- Perform focused nursing assessments, monitor patient conditions, and identify changes requiring immediate intervention
- Prioritize care for patients with varying levels of acuity in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established orders and clinical standards
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
- Float to medical-surgical assignments as needed and provide comprehensive bedside nursing care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in EPIC
- Support continuity of care through patient education, discharge preparation, and effective handoff communication
