Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, with assignments in the surrounding Neenah area
• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing (Med-Surg)
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 16, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, except during orientation and designated facility closures
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 5:30 PM-6:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Up to every other weekend; holiday rotation required
• Call: No regular call or callback requirement
• Floating: Float among Medical-Surgical units and nearby locations based on staffing needs and clinical competency
• Orientation: 8 hours; orientation hours are not included in the weekly guarantee
• Uniform: Black scrubs

Medical-Surgical Travel RN Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing assignment experience required
• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Recent Epic electronic health record documentation experience within the past year
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• AHA ACLS certification preferred
• Comfort working night shifts, floating between units, and adapting to changing staffing needs
• Ability to safely care for patients within demonstrated clinical competencies

Med-Surg Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Float among Medical-Surgical units and nearby facilities while maintaining flexibility, professionalism, and continuity of care
• Care for patients with medical, surgical, oncology, renal, cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and trauma-related conditions
• Manage patients with conditions including CHF, COPD, stroke, DKA, CIWA needs, and post-operative recovery requirements
• Support patients receiving pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, post-pacemaker care, and TR-band monitoring when qualified
• Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments, and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate individualized patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in Epic
• Maintain patient assignments generally ranging from 1:5 to 1:6 based on acuity and staffing support
• Make up missed shifts within the designated two-week timeframe when required
