Registered Nurse Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week, subject to orientation and holiday unit-closure provisions
• Shift Duration: 12-hour variable shifts
• Shift Options: 6:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.-6:30 a.m.; nights may be assigned based on unit needs
• Weekend and Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Patient Population: Inpatient rehabilitation; approximately 12 beds with patient ratios of 1:4-1:6 on evening shifts and 1:8 on nights

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin
• At least 1 year of inpatient hospital nursing experience; medical-surgical or inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation nursing practices and patient-centered care
• Experience with Epic or comparable electronic health record systems preferred
• Ability to float to other inpatient units as needed
• Adaptable, resilient, dependable, and collaborative approach to patient care

Inpatient Rehabilitation RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from stroke, trauma, debility, amputation, and cardiac conditions
• Complete nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress
• Support rehabilitation goals that promote mobility, independence, safety, and successful transitions of care
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patients for changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, patients, and families as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation care team
• Provide patient and family education related to recovery, medications, safety, and ongoing care needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Float to inpatient units when needed and respond effectively to changing patient-care demands
