Travel Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) – X-Ray Technologist Contract in Rockford, Illinois
Join a 13-week travel Radiologic Technologist contract in Rockford, Illinois, supporting diagnostic imaging and operating room services. This on-site radiology job is ideal for an experienced X-ray Technologist who is confident operating C-arms, including OEC 9900 systems, and working a rotating schedule.

Travel Radiology Job Details
- Location: Rockford, Illinois

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts listed; schedule also includes rotating 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: Rotating 2×12 and 2×8 shifts; 12-hour shifts are approximately 10:00 a.m.-10:30 p.m., and 8-hour shifts are approximately 12:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. or 2:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
- Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend, approximately 2:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
- Work Arrangement: On-site
Radiologic Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, Radiology Technologist, or X-ray Technologist
- Valid X-ray Technologist certification or license as required by the state of Illinois
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent operating room experience in a hospital or surgical setting
- Demonstrated experience and comfort operating C-arm equipment, including OEC 9900 systems
- Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes evening shifts and every third weekend
- Strong patient-care, communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills
Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures in accordance with established imaging protocols and radiation-safety standards
- Provide Radiologic Technologist and X-ray Technologist support in the operating room
- Operate and position C-arm equipment, including OEC 9900 systems, during surgical procedures
- Prepare patients, explain imaging procedures, and promote comfort and cooperation throughout diagnostic exams
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images while applying appropriate radiation-protection practices
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, surgeons, and other members of the healthcare team
- Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation
- Follow departmental policies for equipment use, infection prevention, radiation safety, and patient care
