Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,590-$1,700
- Location: Mason City, Iowa
- Healthcare Setting: Acute-care hospital respiratory therapy
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel healthcare assignment
- Start Date: November 1, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Work Arrangement: On-site
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and applicable Iowa state licensure or certification
- At least 1 year of professional respiratory therapy experience; acute-care hospital experience is preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an acute-care hospital environment
- Strong clinical assessment, patient communication, and healthcare documentation skills
- Availability for overnight shifts, alternating weekends, and alternating holidays
- Successful completion of required credential verification, screening, and onboarding procedures
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
- Assess patients and provide respiratory care based on clinical needs and established treatment plans
- Administer respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed respiratory interventions
- Monitor patient response to therapy and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Support airway management and respiratory interventions in urgent and acute-care situations
- Operate, monitor, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment according to department standards
- Document patient assessments, treatments, responses, and care-related communications accurately
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinicians to promote safe, effective patient care
