Danville is a welcoming small-town community in Central Pennsylvania, offering scenic Susquehanna River surroundings, local trails, and convenient access to nearby regional destinations. This Pennsylvania travel nursing assignment is based in a newly opened, modern 96-bed acute inpatient behavioral health facility with four 24-bed housing units, including a dedicated children’s and adolescents’ unit.
Travel Psychiatric Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)
- Nursing Specialty: Psychiatric nursing and behavioral health
- Healthcare Setting: Acute inpatient behavioral health hospital
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680-$1,770
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks, ending January 17, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically three shifts
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.; weekends and holidays as assigned
- Documentation: Epic electronic medical record

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent behavioral health nursing or psychiatric nursing experience
- Psychiatric nursing certification preferred; certification may be obtained on site
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in an acute inpatient psychiatric environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, clinical judgment, and crisis-management skills
Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving acute inpatient behavioral health services
- Complete psychiatric nursing assessments, monitor patient conditions, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, and respectful environment for patients, families, and colleagues
- Support individualized treatment plans through medication management, patient education, therapeutic engagement, and ongoing observation
- Recognize and respond appropriately to behavioral health crises and changes in patient status
- Accurately document patient care and clinical updates in the Epic electronic medical record
- Collaborate with psychiatric providers and the multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes
