ICU Travel Nurse Job Details

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa
- At least 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience; cardiac surgical or cardiovascular critical care experience is highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to provide care for high-acuity and post-surgical patients
- Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
- Current or eligible completion of required nursing competency and credential verification
- Willingness to work night shifts, alternating weekends, and alternating holidays
Cardiac Surgical ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care to critically ill cardiac and surgical patients
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical needs
- Administer medications and therapies safely while following critical care protocols
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Manage complex post-operative care and support recovery following cardiac and thoracic procedures
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient progress
- Educate patients and families and provide compassionate support throughout the care experience
