- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Unit: 26-bed Labor and Delivery unit
- Technology: Meditech EMR, Monica Novii telemetry, CPN/GE fetal monitoring, Alaris pumps, and PCA pumps
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Kansas
- At least 1 year of recent hospital Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Current EFM-C or AWHONN fetal monitoring certification
- High-risk labor and delivery or high-risk obstetric nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience circulating C-sections preferred
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to provide safe, calm, and responsive care in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment
Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Care for high-risk labor patients, antepartum patients, PPROM, preterm labor, and patients receiving magnesium therapy
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring, Doppler, and telemetry technology
- Assist with inductions, C-sections, AROM, IUPC placement, and other obstetric procedures
- Circulate C-sections and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team during operative deliveries
- Administer medications and interventions safely, including oxytocin and magnesium therapy, according to established protocols
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to obstetric and neonatal emergencies
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the birthing experience
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment that values collaboration, self-scheduling, supportive leadership, and shared accountability
