Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in West Des Moines, Iowa
Join a dedicated emergency care team as a Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this on-site travel nursing assignment, you will provide compassionate, timely care to patients with a wide range of urgent and emergent needs while collaborating with an experienced interdisciplinary team. Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040-$2,150
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: January 17, 2027
- Department: Emergency Room
- Shift: 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Work Setting: On-site
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa
- At least 1 year of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to provide safe, effective patient care in a fast-paced emergency department
- Completion of required credentialing, competency, background, and health-screening requirements
- Flexibility to work night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments of patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
- Prioritize emergency care based on patient acuity and changing clinical needs
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with orders and established standards
- Monitor patient responses and promptly identify and communicate changes in condition
- Assist with emergency procedures and coordinate care with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge guidance
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete thorough nursing handoffs
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and high-quality emergency nursing care
