Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience in an acute-care hospital setting
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Experience providing adult respiratory care; intensive care unit (ICU) experience is preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Compliance with department dress guidelines, including olive green scrub tops and black scrub bottoms

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care services to adult hospital patients
• Administer nebulizer treatments and other prescribed respiratory therapies
• Provide oxygen therapy and monitor patient response
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation in accordance with clinical protocols
• Assess respiratory status and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other clinicians to support safe, effective patient care
• Document treatments, assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately
