Locum Tenens Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700-$2,840
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens nursing assignment
- Location: Gunnison, Colorado
- Start Date: September 29, 2026
- End Date: December 29, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday day shift with rotating weekend coverage
- Work Setting: On-site Emergency Department and trauma services
Emergency Nurse Manager and Locum Tenens RN Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a compact state
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, including recent leadership experience within the last 2 years
- Training and clinical experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to provide bedside emergency nursing coverage as needed
- Availability for daytime shifts and rotating weekend coverage
- Successful completion of a Colorado Adult Protective Services check
- Reliable transportation, as public transportation is limited in this rural community
Emergency Department Nurse Manager Responsibilities
- Supervise patient care, nursing staff, and daily Emergency Department operations
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for emergency and trauma services
- Partner with nursing leadership to support department goals, staffing needs, and operational priorities
- Take bedside Registered Nurse shifts when needed to maintain continuity of patient care
- Promote safe, efficient, and patient-centered care throughout the Emergency Department
- Coach, support, and mentor nursing team members
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for emergency and trauma patients
- Help maintain quality standards, regulatory readiness, and effective department workflows
