Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry | 13-Week Assignment in West Des Moines, Iowa
Join a collaborative acute-care team as a Med/Surg Telemetry Travel Registered Nurse in West Des Moines, Iowa. Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750-$1,840
- Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing
- Healthcare Setting: Acute-care hospital, Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
- Start Date: October 18, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending January 16, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Work Arrangement: On-site
Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa
- At least 1 year of recent acute-care Registered Nurse experience
- Medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
- Willingness to complete required health, safety, compliance, and competency documentation before onboarding
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and other indicators of patient status
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established clinical standards
- Identify changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to appropriate care team members
- Collaborate with providers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective patient care
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, recovery, and discharge needs
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans
