• Shifts per Week: 3-4 night shifts; schedule may include 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 18 weekend shifts during the contract
• Holiday Requirement: Availability to work 2-3 holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scheduling: Floating may be required to other units, overflow assignments, and emergency department holds

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in a PCU, stepdown, intermediate care, or similar acute-care setting
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before the start date
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required at submission
• Current Nursys verification required at submission
• Recent Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• CPI certification preferred
• Strong telemetry, neuro assessment, cardiac monitoring, and progressive-care nursing skills
• Must be prepared to provide all requested time off when submitting for consideration
• Flu vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions may be considered

Neuro PCU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, renal, and other progressive-care diagnoses
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, recognize clinical deterioration, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform focused and comprehensive neurological assessments for patients with stroke, intracranial bleeding, traumatic brain injury, seizures, and related conditions
• Manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and other non-invasive airway support
• Administer medications and blood products while following applicable cardiac, anticoagulation, insulin, and other clinical protocols
• Provide care for central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, feeding tubes, surgical drains, wound vacuums, and urinary drainage systems
• Support patients before and after cardiac catheterization, cardiac angiography, cardiac surgery, hemodialysis, and other complex procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, and interpretation services
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
• Float as assigned to divisional units, overflow areas, and emergency department holds while maintaining safe, compassionate patient care
