Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Travel Nursing Contract in Clyde, North Carolina
Travel PCU RN opportunity in Clyde, North Carolina, for an experienced cardiac progressive care nurse seeking a 13-week contract near Asheville and the Great Smoky Mountains. Join an on-site, 22-bed progressive care unit caring for adult patients requiring cardiac observation, telemetry, post-cardiac catheterization, and cardioversion care.
Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840-$1,940

- Contract Dates: November 15, 2026-February 14, 2027
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: PM shift
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

- Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 2 years of progressive care, step-down, or intensive care nursing experience
- Cardiac nursing experience, including care for telemetry and post-procedure patients
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience caring for an adult patient population
- Ability to float to appropriate areas as needed
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach
- Willingness to follow unit dress requirements, including navy scrubs
Travel PCU RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a cardiac progressive care and telemetry setting
- Monitor patients requiring telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac status
- Care for cardiac observation, post-cardiac catheterization, and cardioversion patients
- Complete patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, and clinical documentation
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain safe patient ratios while delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing care
- Float to appropriate units when needed while maintaining quality and continuity of care
- Participate in every-other-weekend coverage as scheduled
