Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in a dynamic hospital environment, enjoys bedside nursing, and is comfortable floating as needed. A telemetry assessment is required prior to start.
Job Details

- Setting: Acute care inpatient hospital
- Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
- Weekend Rotation: Two weekends per six-week schedule period, with additional weekends possible based on preference
- Floating: Required as needed
- Orientation: 20 hours
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Location: Madison, WI 53718
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Previous telemetry nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification through AHA only
- Prior travel RN experience required
- Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Comfortable with weekend and holiday rotation based on operational need
- Must be able to float to other units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Tele unit
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and support common acute care interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic while maintaining timely charting standards
- Care for patients with a variety of medical-surgical and telemetry needs
- Adapt to floating assignments and contribute to unit coverage as needed
- Maintain professionalism, strong communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment
