- Position: Oncology Registered Nurse (Oncology RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Setting: Medical Surgical Oncology Unit
- Location: Aurora, CO 80045
- Shift: Night shift, 3×12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 12, 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Charting System: Epic
- Patient Population: Adult patients
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, per unit needs
- Additional Notes: Floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs
Job Requirements
- Active Colorado Registered Nurse license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- At least 1 year of oncology nursing experience preferred, with strong inpatient med-surg oncology skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Chemotherapy certification, OCN, or ONS/ONCC certification preferred
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Comfort working with flexible patient ratios and changing unit needs
- Strong experience in trauma level II hospital environments preferred
- Ability to function effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced hospital setting
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult oncology patients
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition throughout the shift
- Administer medications, therapies, and treatments according to oncology care standards
- Support patients receiving chemotherapy, blood products, and symptom management interventions
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary support teams to coordinate care
- Follow infection prevention practices and maintain neutropenic precautions when indicated
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, safety, and ongoing care needs
- Respond to changing staffing or unit needs while delivering high-quality patient care
