Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Tele
- Type: Travel Contract Nursing Job
- Setting: Med/Surg/Telemetry/Stroke Unit
- Location: Odessa, TX
- Start Date: 10/20/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 4×12-hour schedule (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,750 – $1,840
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Special Scheduling: May consider straight 48s or 36/48 alternating
- Travel Note: Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
Job Requirements
- Active Texas Registered Nurse license
- BLS and NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience in Med/Surg Tele, telemetry, or a similar acute care setting
- Cerner experience preferred
- Willingness to float to other Med/Surg/Tele units as assigned
- Flu vaccine required; medical and religious exemptions/declinations allowed
- RTO must be submitted with application
- Resume required with submission
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care to Med/Surg Tele and stroke patients
- Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond to changes in condition
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced acute care inpatient environment
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and timely
- Float to other Med/Surg/Tele units as needed
- Support unit workflow and contribute to a strong team-based care environment
