Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Eureka, CA
Travel Labor & Delivery RN opportunity in Eureka, California for a 13-week assignment in a fast-paced maternal child health setting. Job Details
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,480 – $2,610
- Schedule: Self-scheduling with weekend coverage as needed
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Location: Eureka, California
- Unit Focus: Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Additional Notes: Float assignments may be required within scope to meet facility needs
Job Requirements
- Active California RN license required at time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Postpartum nursing experience preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with high-risk OB, cesarean sections, and postpartum/newborn care strongly preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends as needed, and float within scope
- Must be comfortable supporting a culturally diverse patient population
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork are essential
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn recovery
- Support and monitor high-risk obstetric patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
- Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with vaginal deliveries as needed
- Perform fetal monitoring, assess labor progress, and respond to changes in maternal or fetal status
- Provide newborn assessments, stabilization support, and parent education
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and obstetric interventions according to best practices
- Document care accurately in Epic and maintain clear communication with the healthcare team
- Educate and support patients and families during one of the most important moments in their lives
