Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Eureka, CA
Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse job in Eureka, California–support high-risk obstetrics, postpartum care, and maternal-newborn outcomes in a rewarding 26-week California nursing assignment. Job Details
- Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Eureka, CA 95501
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job
- Start Date: 10/19/2026
- Duration: 26 weeks
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,480 – $2,610
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Patient Volume: Approximately 15-20 visits per day
- Facility Environment: Labor & Delivery unit caring for high-risk OB and postpartum patients
Job Requirements
- Active California RN license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Postpartum experience preferred
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to work weekends as needed to support staffing
- Willingness to float within scope based on facility needs
- Must be comfortable working with high-risk obstetric patients and a culturally diverse population
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum support
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk obstetric cases
- Circulate for C-sections and support surgical procedures as needed
- Perform newborn assessments, postpartum assessments, and patient education
- Support triage, fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Float within scope when needed to meet facility needs
- Document accurately in Epic and maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care
