Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel RN, on-site
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia 22908
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 – $1,940
- Unit: Level III NICU
- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending Virginia RN license accepted before start
- Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience is highly preferred
- BLS and NRP required
- Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required or may be submitted pending
- Epic experience required
- Strong clinical experience with ventilator management, IV fluid titration, hemodynamic support, neonatal assessments, and medication calculations
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care for critically ill neonates and infants in a busy neonatal intensive care unit
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support, including HFOV, HFJV, CPAP/BiPAP, NIPPV/NIMV, and iNO
- Perform and assist with admissions, IV placement, lab draws, line care, wound and drain care, and ostomy care
- Support complex neonatal care including whole-body cooling, post-op care, and hemodynamic stabilization
- Assist with procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, umbilical line placement, and chest tube placement
- Float within scope to newborn care, postpartum, pediatrics, and PICU when needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, compassionate, family-centered care
