Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Dothan, AL
Join a supportive inpatient acute care team as a Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse in Dothan, Alabama. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 – $1,730
- Specialty: Med/Surg Tele RN
- Setting: Inpatient acute care hospital
- Location: Dothan, AL 36301
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Shift Pattern: 3×12 or 4×12 nights, based on traveler preference
- Scheduling Style: Block scheduling
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Orientation: 28 hours
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Unit Census: Approximately 35 patients per day
Job Requirements
- Active Alabama RN license at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and managing drips, including cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone
- Experience in large healthcare facilities preferred
- Ability to support patient ratios up to 1:6-7
- Permanent address must be at least 90 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- COVID-19 vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions only
- Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric med/surg telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient condition, and respond to changes in acuity
- Administer and titrate IV drips according to patient needs and facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response
- Deliver safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care in a busy inpatient environment
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and on time
- Support weekend coverage as part of the unit schedule
- Complete required pre-start modules and orientation activities
