- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
- Orientation: 72 hours
- Unit Focus: Adult and geriatric oncology/hematology care
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience required
- Current medical-surgical experience in the specialty area required
- Experience with oncology nursing or hematology nursing preferred
- BLS and ACLS required
- Epic charting experience required
- ONS certification preferred
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response support
- Must be comfortable working rotating weekend coverage based on unit needs
- Ability to float to other med-surg oncology units as needed
- Strong adherence to infection prevention, fall prevention, and patient safety practices
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with hematologic and oncologic diagnoses
- Monitor and manage patients receiving blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and specialty infusions
- Support care for complex conditions such as lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma, and sickle cell disease
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies and changes in patient condition
- Administer and monitor insulin drips, heparin drips, and other ordered therapies
- Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias as part of daily patient care
- Assist with central line and peripheral IV care, including line maintenance and blood draws
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to promote safe, coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols closely
- Support a patient-centered environment with a strong focus on safety, infection prevention, and fall reduction
