Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract in Morgantown, West Virginia

Job Details
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN
- Setting: Acute care medical-surgical unit
- Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 4×12 or 3×12 night shifts, including weekdays and weekends
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
- Charting System: Cerner
- Patient Population: Adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Unit Size: 34 beds
- Typical Ratio: 1:5-7
- Weekend Coverage: 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week scheduling period
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or a Compact state; pending license may be accepted for submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required; AHA certifications preferred where applicable
- Strong experience in med-surg and telemetry nursing
- Experience managing patient ratios in a busy acute care environment
- Ability to work night shifts and weekends as scheduled
- Must be able to provide required documentation at time of submission
- Professional references from recent charge nurse or manager experience required
- Must meet travel distance guidelines for consideration
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Monitor telemetry, assess changes in condition, and respond appropriately to patient needs
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other ordered treatments
- Perform wound care, line care, drainage management, and respiratory support interventions as needed
- Support patients with a variety of acute medical diagnoses and post-procedure needs
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary departments
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner
- Promote a safe, organized, and compassionate care environment
- Contribute to team huddles, patient flow, and overall unit efficiency
