Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) – Travel Assignment in Salt Lake City, UT
Seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel RN job in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. Job Details
- Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down / Telemetry
- Job Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: Every other weekend, no call
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570 – $1,650
- EMR: EPIC
- Floating: Med/Surg, IMCU
- Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84124
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in PCU, telemetry, step-down, or a similar acute care nursing setting
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Strong time management, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills
- Experience with cardiac monitors, telemetry, IV pumps, PCA, epidurals, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, and feeding tubes preferred
- Comfortable working night shifts and floating as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality patient care to PCU patients with a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Monitor telemetry and cardiac status, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support advanced patient care equipment
- Perform and assist with feeding tube placement and related clinical care tasks
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
- Document nursing care accurately in EPIC and follow unit policies and procedures
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while supporting weekend coverage requirements
