- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,310 – $2,440
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Float: May float to NICU and pediatric units within the hospital
- Charting System: Epic
- Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of CVPICU experience required
- CVICU and post-op heart experience required
- First-time travelers may be considered with strong PICU experience and 3+ years of nursing experience
- BLS and PALS required; NRP preferred
- Epic experience required
- Ability to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays
- Comfortable with bedside procedures and high-acuity pediatric critical care
- Pending state license accepted if submitted to the licensing board
- References and detailed work history required
Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care for critically ill pediatric, cardiac, surgical, and trauma patients in a busy PICU
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced therapies such as CRRT and ECMO
- Assist with bedside procedures including central line placement, arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, and ECMO support
- Operate and manage advanced equipment, ventilators, and monitoring systems in a pediatric critical care environment
- Deliver compassionate, family-centered care while maintaining a calm, professional presence in a fast-paced intensive care setting
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols using Epic
- Float to other pediatric areas as needed based on unit needs
