NICU Registered Nurse – Travel Nurse Contract in Richmond, VA | Level IV NICU
Experienced NICU Registered Nurse (NICU RN) needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Richmond, Virginia. Job Details
- Position: NICU Registered Nurse (NICU RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Healthcare Setting: Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Location: Richmond, VA
- Schedule: Night shift, 3×12-hour shifts (12-hour nights)
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 – $2,060
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Floating: May float within scope as needed
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or compact state RN license in hand at time of submission
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS and NRP certification required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and provide weekend coverage
- 2 professional references required
- Strong clinical skills in neonatal care, high-acuity patient management, and critical care nursing
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to neonates in a Level IV NICU setting
- Monitor and support critically ill newborns requiring advanced medical and surgical interventions
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support respiratory care interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Perform ongoing assessments, document care in Epic, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Support family education, developmental care, and compassionate communication for newborns and caregivers
- Float within scope when needed and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced neonatal care environment
