Travel Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Gadsden, Alabama

Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg RN / Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Gadsden, Alabama
- Start Date: 10/05/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620 – $1,700
Job Requirements
- Active Compact or Alabama RN license
- Current BLS certification
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Cerner experience preferred
- Travel nurses must live more than 50 miles from the assignment location
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work effectively on night shift
- Reliable communication, professionalism, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, patient-centered care to Med/Surg patients in an inpatient hospital setting
- Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond appropriately to clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments according to care plans, physician orders, and hospital protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and follow hospital policies and procedures
- Provide support for a patient ratio of approximately 6:1
- Contribute to a positive unit culture while working scheduled night shifts and every-other-weekend rotations
