Job Details
- Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
- Schedule: 40 hours per week; 4 x 10-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Call Requirements: Call rotation with 1 night per week and weekends based on staffing needs
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370-$2,500
- Setting: Operating Room / Perioperative Nursing
Job Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- At least 1 year of operating room nursing experience required
- CNOR strongly preferred
- ACLS required upon hire, or active BLS with AHA ACLS obtained within 60 days of hire
- Strong communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment with competing priorities
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare team members
- Maintain sterile technique, aseptic practice, and proper handling of instruments and supplies
- Verify patient identity, consent, procedure, and surgical site before transport to the operating room
- Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and body mechanics during procedures
- Monitor sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policy
- Administer medications and IV therapy per orders, protocols, and procedures
- Perform patient assessments, pain reassessments, documentation, and handoff reporting
- Identify specimens and cultures accurately and ensure proper handling
- Support patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with established standards
