Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or entry-level Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university
• Current New Mexico Physical Therapist license
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy modalities, rehabilitation equipment, and evidence-based treatment approaches
• Ability to work independently in a hospital-based therapy and rehabilitation setting
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills
• No prior experience required

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to assess physical and cognitive abilities of inpatients and outpatients
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with patient and family involvement
• Document initial evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required clinical records
• Participate in patient care conferences, family meetings, in-services, and departmental meetings
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, rehabilitation plans, and discharge preparation
• Support discharge planning and help ensure timely, effective transitions of care
• Assist with department operations, orientation of new team members, and quality improvement efforts
• Supervise and coordinate support staff, students, and volunteers as needed
• Maintain professional relationships with physicians, referral sources, and interdisciplinary care team members
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered hospital culture focused on high-quality outcomes
