Orthopedic Registered Nurse – Travel Nurse Assignment in Asheville, North Carolina

Job Details

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
- EMR: Cerner
- Floating: May float to other Med-Surg units as needed
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Job Requirements
- Active North Carolina RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Hospital experience preferred
- Orthopedic nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Strong communication, adaptability, and patient-centered care skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to orthopedic patients on a busy inpatient unit
- Perform and assist with dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube care, and wound vac maintenance/removal
- Monitor patient status, respond to changing conditions, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support safe mobility, ambulation, and patient transfers using assistive equipment as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, therapy teams, and support staff to promote recovery and discharge readiness
- Deliver compassionate, family-centered care while maintaining efficiency and accuracy
- Adapt to patient needs and float to other Med-Surg units when assigned
