Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing / Contract RN
- Location: Kansas City, MO 64132
- Start Date: 12/14/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: 3 weekend shifts per month
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
- Unit Size: 20 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- On Call: Not required
- Floating: Agency/contract nurses float first as needed
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience with nephrology, kidney transplants, renal care, or dialysis preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
- Comfortable using Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to adult Med/Surg patients in an inpatient acute care setting
- Monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and respond appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient outcomes
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record
- Support patients with nephrology-related needs, including transplant and renal-focused care
- Maintain excellent communication with patients, families, and team members
- Adapt to floating assignments within the agency contract workflow when needed
