Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing or related acute care experience
- Strong time management skills in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment with short lengths of stay
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient care skills
- Experience in post-op surgical care preferred
- Comfort working in a patient-centered setting with an outgoing, customer service-oriented approach
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for post-operative medical-surgical patients
- Monitor and maintain surgical procedure sites
- Perform wound care, including packing, dressing changes, and wound vac management
- Manage Foley catheters, continuous bladder irrigation, and ostomy appliances
- Assist with nasogastric tube insertion and suction
- Administer TPN and blood products per protocol
- Perform central line care and dressing changes
- Deliver accurate bedside shift reports and support safe handoffs
- Float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed
- Maintain prompt attendance, open communication, and a professional appearance
