ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in San Antonio, TX
Join a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in San Antonio, Texas. This 13-week travel nursing assignment is an excellent opportunity for an experienced critical care RN who thrives in fast-paced hospital environments and wants to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. Job Details
- Location: San Antonio, Texas
- Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 – $1,540
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Work Environment: High-acuity critical care with floating as needed within the system
Job Requirements
- Active Texas RN license required; temporary license is not accepted
- 2+ years of ICU nursing or critical care experience required
- 2+ years of hospital or travel nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Ability to work every other weekend
- Comfortable floating to other ICU areas as needed based on census and staffing needs
- Meditech experience preferred
- Experience with CRRT (Prismaflex) and Rotoprone preferred
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Monitor patient status closely and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal outcomes
- Perform and assist with ICU procedures such as central lines, bronchoscopy support, and bedside trachs as assigned
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner using Meditech
- Support infection prevention, patient safety, and unit standards
- Float to other ICU areas when needed to support patient care across the system
