Radiologic Technologist Job Requirements
- 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care
- ARRT certification and registration required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
- State licensure preferred, or required if applicable in the state of practice
- Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred
- Experience with PACS, EPIC, or RIS systems preferred
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and attention to detail
Radiology Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using safe and effective imaging practices
- Obtain patient history and relevant clinical information before examinations
- Position and immobilize patients to achieve optimal imaging results while maintaining comfort
- Apply radiation safety principles and ALARA standards at all times
- Operate imaging equipment and accessories according to department protocols
- Verify informed consent and complete accurate pre- and post-procedure documentation
- Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures as needed
- Evaluate images for technical quality and document radiation dose exposure
- Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Support safe, efficient patient care across a diverse population of all ages
