Travel Nurse Job Details

- Position: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

- Employment Type: 13-week travel contract
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000-$2,100
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 1, 2027
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scheduling Notes: Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Time-off requests of up to five days are preferred.
Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Wisconsin
- At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment, and care-planning skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every third weekend
- Adaptability in a fast-paced acute-care and inpatient hospital environment
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions
- Perform patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and promptly communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education
- Accurately document patient care and clinical findings in Cerner
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
