This 13-week travel nurse assignment offers an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) the opportunity to care for medically complex patients while working alongside a supportive clinical team.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830-$1,920
- Location: Fort Myers, Florida
- Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Progressive Care Nursing
- Healthcare Setting: 48-bed Progressive Care and observation unit
- Contract Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Start Date: November 6, 2026
- End Date: February 6, 2027
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 4-5 patients per nurse
- Charting System: Epic
- Dress Code: Galaxy blue or white scrubs
Progressive Care RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Florida
- At least 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
- Progressive care or observation nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to care for medically complex patients
- Willingness to float to other units or affiliated campuses as patient-care needs require
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team-focused culture
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care and observation setting
- Assess, monitor, and document changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards of care
- Manage patients with complex medical needs requiring close monitoring and timely intervention
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Use Epic to maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
- Adapt to changing unit needs and float to other care areas when necessary
