Travel RN Job Details

• Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour shifts
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Times: Days, approximately 7:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
• Schedule Flexibility: Rotating day and night assignments may be required to support operational needs
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Traveler must work at least every other holiday
• Orientation: Includes required clinical orientation and competency assessments

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, vascular surgery stepdown, or a closely related specialty
• Current, active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from an accepted provider
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and respond to changes in cardiac and vascular patient conditions
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
• Ability to complete required background screening, health documentation, and pre-start learning modules
• Ability to float, when needed, to comparable cardiac, vascular, or emergency care units while caring for a similar patient population

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and vascular stepdown patients throughout the continuum of recovery
• Monitor telemetry, recognize dysrhythmias, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition
• Assess patients before and after cardiovascular and vascular procedures and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and therapies safely while monitoring effectiveness and potential adverse effects
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient responses
• Support safe transitions of care and maintain a high standard of patient safety and clinical quality
