Travel Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical and Telemetry Nursing

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in New York
- At least 1 year of acute-care registered nursing experience
- Recent medical-surgical nursing and telemetry experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale competency or certification
- Ability to read and interpret basic cardiac rhythm strips before starting the assignment
- Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale assessments
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, identify changes promptly, and initiate appropriate interventions
- Provide evidence-based nursing care for acute stroke and complex telemetry patients
- Follow stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, patient education, and individualized care planning
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with barcode medication administration standards
- Coordinate care with providers, rehabilitation services, case management, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Manage admissions, discharges, transfers, and patient flow in a high-turnover healthcare environment
- Promote fall prevention, skin integrity, infection prevention, and overall patient safety
- Collaborate effectively with primary and team nursing staff to deliver consistent, patient-centered care
