LTAC Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 1 year of bedside clinical nursing experience required; 2 years of bedside experience highly preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients with complex medical conditions and extended recovery needs
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, delegation, and clinical documentation skills
• Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, professional conduct, and collaborative practice

Long-Term Acute Care RN Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments within required timeframes and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and communicate pertinent updates to the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, nursing interventions, responses to treatment, and care-plan updates accurately and promptly
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and contribute to rehabilitation-focused patient goals
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family education throughout the stay
• Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing support personnel
• Promote a safe patient care environment by following clinical policies, safe-handling practices, and infection-prevention standards
• Prioritize assignments, organize workflow, and use time and resources effectively
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, patients, and families to support continuity of care and positive clinical outcomes
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation when requested
• Pursue ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned
