MRI Technologist Travel Job Details

• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 15, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday
• Call: Weekend call from Friday through Sunday approximately every 4-6 weeks
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Daily Caseload: Approximately 11 exams per scanner
• Equipment: Siemens Aera 1.5T and Siemens Skyra 3.0T MRI systems
• Holiday Availability: Availability to work four of eight designated major holiday dates during the assignment

MRI Technologist Qualifications

• At least 1 year of MRI technologist experience
• ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or ARMRIT certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Experience performing both inpatient and outpatient MRI examinations
• Proficiency with PACS, contrast media preparation and administration, peripheral IV starts, surface coils, and image post-processing
• Experience with Siemens MRI systems preferred
• Travel assignment applicants must reside more than 70 miles from the work location
• Completion of required pre-start education, facility modules, and respiratory fit testing

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Conduct a broad range of studies, including brain, perfusion, functional MRI, spectroscopy, spine, musculoskeletal, breast, breast biopsy, body, enterography, defecography, and pelvic imaging
• Complete specialized studies such as CINE cerebrospinal fluid flow, diffusion, magnetic resonance angiography, and image post-processing
• Screen patients for MRI safety, explain procedures, and promote a safe and comfortable imaging experience
• Prepare and administer contrast media according to established protocols and monitor patients throughout examinations
• Start peripheral IVs and select appropriate coils and imaging protocols for each examination
• Accurately document and transmit imaging studies through PACS while maintaining quality and patient confidentiality
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, providers, and other imaging professionals to support timely patient care
• Participate in scheduled weekend call coverage and maintain readiness for urgent and trauma-related imaging needs
