Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,480-$2,610
• Location: Santa Monica, California
• Assignment Type: Labor & Delivery travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, approximately 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Call: No on-call requirement
• Floating: May float to Postpartum when needed
• Charting: Epic
• Unit Environment: 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in California or a compact RN license in hand at submission
• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not being considered
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Current NRP and Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred; NCC EFM may be accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced
• Demonstrated experience with high-risk antepartum care, fetal heart monitoring, sterile vaginal examinations, vaginal deliveries, and Cesarean sections
• Experience circulating for Cesarean sections and working in an operating room suite
• Epic charting experience and community hospital experience
• Ability to provide highly attentive, confidential care for a diverse patient population
• Two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the last three years
• All requested time off and scheduling preferences must be submitted upfront

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients
• Monitor patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies and interpret fetal heart rate patterns
• Care for patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and transition to postpartum care
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for scheduled and emergent Cesarean sections
• Support patients through perioperative care, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Participate in emergency obstetric procedures such as dilation and curettage or emergent hysterectomy support as appropriate
• Perform accurate assessments, administer medications, and implement individualized plans of care
• Provide newborn care during delivery and perform postpartum couplet care for maternal-newborn pairs when needed
• Float to Postpartum to support unit needs while maintaining safe, compassionate patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Maintain timely and thorough documentation in Epic
• Protect patient privacy and demonstrate discretion in all patient and family interactions
