Occupational Therapist Job Details

Occupational Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of rehabilitation therapy experience preferred
• Demonstrated lymphedema treatment and management experience required
• Current Illinois Physical Therapist license required per the assignment specifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to provide skilled patient care in an inpatient adult rehabilitation setting
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Inpatient Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Evaluate adult patients and develop individualized occupational therapy rehabilitation plans of care
• Provide skilled therapy services with an emphasis on lymphedema management and functional recovery
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical response and therapeutic goals
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety, and home exercise or management strategies
• Document evaluations, interventions, progress, and discharge recommendations accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Promote patient independence, safe mobility, activities of daily living, and successful transitions across the continuum of care
