Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930-$2,080
• Location: Farmington, Connecticut
• Setting: Hospital respiratory therapy department
• Start Date: November 13, 2026
• End Date: February 18, 2027
• Duration: 14-week travel assignment
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Additional Scheduling: Call, holiday coverage, and mandatory overtime may be required based on unit needs
• Practice Environment: On-site; floating within clinical competency may be required

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience; 1-2 years preferred
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist credential through the NBRC or an equivalent certifying body
• Current BLS certification
• Active respiratory therapy license eligible for practice in Connecticut
• Recent travel respiratory therapy experience required
• EPIC experience required
• NRP certification is highly preferred
• Ability to provide respiratory care across ICU, emergency, medical-surgical, telemetry, and other departments within clinical competency
• Flexibility to float or accept reassignment within the organization as needed

Travel Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to adult patients with respiratory and cardiac conditions
• Support patients in intensive care, emergency, medical-surgical, telemetry, orthopedic, and behavioral health settings
• Assess respiratory status, administer prescribed therapies, and monitor patient response
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, effective patient care
• Respond to urgent respiratory needs and support critical care interventions within scope of practice
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Float between departments and care areas as assigned while maintaining high standards of clinical care
• Participate in weekend, holiday, call, and additional coverage rotations as required
